Dotty Dining

Well, we have to admit it, the inspiration for Dotty Dining was Come Dine With Me.

We wanted a simple idea to help to raise more money for Dorothy House that pretty much anyone could take part in and making a meal is something anyone can try - even if they can't cook. In fact if they can't cook it may even make the meal more interesting!

And who doesn't like good food, something nice to drink, some fun company and a good time. Like the TV show we're leaving the format of the evening to the host. The only think we ask is that the evening should raisie money for Dorothy House. To make it easy to donate we have set up a page at Just Giving for Dotty Dining .

How you raise that money is completely up to your imagination. You could just agree a donation per guest. You could run a compettition of some kind. You could aution each course. Whatever - just use your imagination.

And you don't have to be a part of The Bath Business Club to take up the Dotty Dining idea - we'd love it if more people joined in and told us about it. We'd love to get complete strangers as well as people we know and you know joining each other for a meal and helping Dorothy House. Why not give it a go?

About Dorothy House

Dorothy House Volunteers

Dorothy House supports people who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

They bellieve that this should not mean that ‘normal’ life grinds to a halt, but most people need help to deal with the consequences of such a diagnosis.

They work as as a team to provide care and support, free of charge, to those who need it. Trained volunteers are also an important part of the team, both at the hospice in Winsley and out in the community.

Life-threatening illnesses affect everyone differently. Some people experience pain and physical symptoms; others may find their main worries are financial or emotional. Dorothy House, listens to you, finds out your particular needs and provides a service tailored to you as an individual - looking after the emotional, social and spiritual aspects of your care, as well as your physical needs.
